About

Only use this label for EVA compilation albums from The Netherlands, Belgium and France. For Scandinavian albums, please use EVA Records (5). For unofficial releases, see Eva (5). The EVA labels were a group of sister labels made for compilations and Best-Of albums released as joint ventures between the national divisions of EMI, Virgin and Ariola. The label became active in 1984 but is now defunct in all countries. Early EVA albums were released with the logos of the three individual labels. Sometimes the label name EVA was not mentioned on those releases. Please use the separate labels for those releases. You can add EVA with role 'Record Company' if it is not mentioned with another role. The Netherlands Active from 1985 until 1997. In 1990 the labels Warner Music, Sony Music and Phonogram/Polydor founded Magnum as its counterpart. EVA and Magnum were collaborating though, both releasing different volumes of several compilation album series. In 1997 both EVA and Magnum were dissolved. Starting 1998 the labels continued to work together on compilation albums, but without a shared branding. From that moment on releases only carried the logo of the label responsible for the marketing and distribution of the release.
