These Simple Truths

It’s difficult not to like Sidewalk Prophets, whose brand of pop rock is unabashedly melodic, polished for radio, and heavy on big, sweeping, sing-along choruses. Their debut album made a big splash, largely on the basis of “The Words I Would Say,” which adds a string section to their big rock guitars to send the chorus straight into the heavens. Just as good are “You Can Have Me,” a song of Christian devotion in a world of fickle love, and more acoustic-based, folksy shuffles like “Moving All the While.”
