Seattle survivors Minus the Bear ride recent waves of upheaval—a new label, fatherhood, the departure of original drummer Erin Tate—with style on this complex, controlled sixth album. “Last Kiss” locks into a plaintive math-rock groove, “Invisible” adds a widescreen sweep to those lightning-fingered licks, and insomniac anthem “What About the Boat?” (“Counted sheep ‘til they started counting me,” sings Jake Snider) radiates mournful, hardboiled cool.
