hatNOIR is one of sub-labels under the HatHut umbrella, dedicated specifically to "fresh, unpredictable, innovative, uncategorizable projects". Releases have 800's numbers in the catalog. The label was active in 1998-99 and so far produced only three albums, all of them presenting a more melodic, mellow and lowercase solo guitar pieces by Loren MazzaCane Connors, Jim O'Rourke and Taku Sugimoto.
