About

WTG Records was founded by and named for Walter Yetnikoff, Tommy Motolla, and Gerald Greenberg. WTG was a California-based, Epic Records imprint launched by 3 record executives - Walter Yetnikoff, Tommy Mottola & Gerry Greenberg - following Mottola's appointment as president of Sony after their acquisition of CBS, originally active from 1988 until 1993. After the moniker laid dormant for 10 years, Sony-BMG reactivated the name WTG in 2003 as a budget reissue label for Columbia titles.
