About
After a long career with CBS Records and Sony Music Entertainment, music executive Walter Yetnikoff launched this U.S. record label in 1996. (Velvel is a Yiddish word meaning "little wolf"). Velvel's catalog primarily included titles from The Kinks' back catalog, Bad Company lead singer Paul Rodgers, and former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman. After only three years, Koch Entertainment acquired Velvel in 1999, closing the label and transferring the artists to Koch Records. Label Code: LC 1856 / LC 01856
