Christian-affiliated punk/hardcore record label founded by in Birmingham, AL in the late 1990s following the demise of Slacker 66, a record store & venue run by Johnson. The label quickly gained notoriety in the Christian alternative scene and their artists started receiving attention from bigger labels like . In 2002, Johnson sold the label to , licensed Takehold's back catalog for distribution and marketing, and took a position as an A&R representative with the label. Several Takehold artists (, , and , as well as side project ) were eventually signed to Tooth & Nail.
