About
Sony Disc Manufacturing (commonly SDM) represented U.S. optical disc facilities owned by the Sony Corporation. This unified branding was used from c.1996/97 until the mid 2000s and included locations in Carrollton, GA, Pitman, NJ (Sony Music, Pitman), Springfield, OR (Sony Disc Manufacturing, Springfield) and Terre Haute, IN (DADC). All 4 plants shared the same manufacturing code (4-letter prefix and sequential number), which was printed on disc face and/or etched in the matrix mirror band (that code previously only identified the DADC plant).
