About

The German SABA label (name derived from Schwarzwälder-Apparate-Bau-Anstalt) was founded in 1958 by Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer. In 1968, the label was renamed in MPS Records. Label Code: LC 0893 / LC 00893 The SABA label produced about 40 Jazz LPs until 1968 when its parent company was sold to an American GTE Corporation. The new owners had no interest in SABA's recording business so Brunner-Schwer founded his own new label, , and brought in the entire SABA back catalogue.
