US shellac label. This was a 25¢ brand originally produced by the for the S. H. Kress dime stores. Introduced in July 1926, its early history is identical to that of the label. Romeo became part of the line following an August 1929 merger, and remained as one of ARC's largest client labels throughout much of the 1930s. Separate race- and country music series were introduced in 1931. The label was finally discontinued in April 1938, along with ARC's remaining dime-store labels.
