The label was based in Milan and run by Gianni Sassi, founder of Cramps Records. He was operating Multhipla in conjunction with Fluxus collector and editor Gino Di Maggio. Multhipla was not only a record label, but also an art gallery and publishing house, mainly focused on avant garde art movements.
