About

Active 1983-2000. New York City-based ska label originally founded as Moon Records (8) in 1983 by Robert Hingley of The Toasters. It was renamed Moon Ska in the 1990s to avoid confusion with a US blues label, but early releases on this variant should be listed as Moon Records (8) as well as any relevant manufacturing/distribution credits. While the US label is closed down, Moon Ska currently exists as a European off-shoot called Moon Ska Europe, which rebranded in 2006 as Moon Ska World. P.O.
