Living Era, sub label of ASV. A British nostalgia label created by specializing in reissuing public domain recordings in the UK, which are all at least 50 years old, of all the great stars of the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Showcased American jazz recordings, American pop, American country and Western music, British dance bands, and British nostalgia. The catalogue holds some 486 CDs – that’s 12,701 original 78s that have been brought back to life. All releases were done by the head label/record company ASV (Academy Sound And Vision). They sold the catalogue in 2004 to Sanctuary Records. In 2007 the whole back catalogue was bought by Universal Music, but they never continued with any new releases.
