GRT Record Pressing

Formerly Mid-South Record Pressing Company, under this name from 1974 until the plant closed circa 1979. GRT Record Pressing was acquired by GRT Corporation in the 1969 buyout of Chess Records. GRT pressings may be distinguished by a flat label area with a 28.5mm/1.125" pressing ring, or a "muffin"-style double pressing ring with a 28.5mm/1.125" inner ring and 70mm/2.76" outer ring; sometimes the letters "GRT" appear etched in runouts. • Pressings for US Polydor/PolyGram labels have Plant Code "75" printed on labels. • Pressings for US K-Tel releases have plant code "47" printed on the labels. • Pressings for Atlantic may have -GR printed on the labels.
