About

Classical music label - a sister label of Angel Records. Initially established by EMI Records Ltd. It was launched in 1983 as a midline LP label, although the releases were also available on cassette. The word text trademark "Eminence" was registered 15th Feb 1983 under the immediate ownership of . On the 3rd March 2004 the trademark rights were reassigned to 's intellectual property holding company EMI (IP) Ltd., with EMI Records Ltd. and EMI Group Plc becoming the licensee. As of 2017 the immediate proprietor of the trademark remains EMI (IP) Ltd. which is still controlled by EMI Group Plc successor , which subsequently forms part of the Universal Music Group.
