UK custom recording-and-pressing company originally based in Ormskirk, but later Carnforth, Lancashire, founded by brothers and . The studio possibly operated from as early as 1948, although the earliest documented evidence of appears in April 1957. In the early days (c.1957-1965), Delroy Sound Service offered tape-to-disc recording in small runs cut directly to acetate. By May 1962, Delroy Sound Service had moved to a new premises in Hest Bank, Lancaster and by 1964 boasted a 40ft recording studio. In keeping with technological developments, by 1967 DSS offered the fully manufacturing service, from recording master tapes on location, cutting to lacquer, and pressing to vinyl, unlike many other companies who only cut to acetate. It appears that DSS would occasionally outsource pressing of larger runs to either or . In 1976, with relocating to Scotland, the firm began to cut down on equipment. At this time, the pressing plant was based in Northumberland and plating was carried out in Leicester (probably by ). During this time, DSS were pressing records for the Scottish labels and .
