About
Intended only as a special collaborative effort between Def Jam and Heineken's music cooperative organization, Red Star, "Def Jamaica" was officially the name of a 2003 Dancehall/Hip-Hop fusion compilation album project that brought together the biggest Hip-Hop and Dancehall artists of the day, but was also used correspondingly as an "unofficial" one-off specialty sub-label of Island Def Jam. There have been no other releases on this imprint since.
