Crass Records
About
Anarcho-punk label from Essex, UK founded by Crass in 1979. The catalogue numbers of Crass Records releases were intended to represent a countdown to the year 1984 (e.g., 521984 meaning "five years until 1984"). Multiple releases in a given year would be indicated by a slash followed by a number (e.g. 321984/2 = second release of 1981). In 1984, releases had catalogue numbers of format 1984(/x). In 1985, the catalogue numbers were changed to a standardised system (Cat. No. x). Closed down in 1992, restarted in 2019.
