Subsidiary label of Melodisc Records Ltd. set up by Emil Shallit and Siggy Jackson in August 1960 to record and distribute Jamaican music in the UK. Later the label also sponsored a popular ska night at the Marquee Club in London and played a major role in the popularisation of ska.
