About

US label. Black Music is an independent record label created by James Towning (Realistic, Fact TwentyTwo) to release his own projects as well as others. The first release was Fact TwentyTwo's "Offhand" cassette in 1986. In the 1990's, Black Music compiled and released two compilation CDs of electronic musicians from Ohio. They were "Music for Shopping" (1993) and "Adventures in Modern Recording" (1997). In 2001, Black Music co-released Realistic's "Smells Like Teen Disco" record with the label Illegal Art.
