PENTAGON is a Japanese electronic music unit formed in 1999 by composers Kōichi Yamazaki and Mitsukuni Murayama. Emerging from their work at Sony Computer Entertainment, the duo established themselves as versatile producers working across both commercial dance music and interactive media. They gained international recognition through singles “So Special” and “Move On,” released on UK-based Frontline Records, showcasing their accessible approach to electronic production.

The unit’s production work spans rhythm games and cinematic soundtracks, with significant contributions to Konami’s beatmania series under individual artist names, alongside collaborative arrangements for PlayStation titles including Gran Turismo 3 A-spec and ICO.
