The Seeds are an American psychedelic garage rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, known for their energetic blend of garage rock and proto-psychedelic sounds. Fronted by Sky Saxon, the band's classic lineup also featured guitarist Jan Savage, keyboardist Daryl Hooper, and drummer Rick Andridge. Their breakthrough single "Pushin' Too Hard" became their highest-charting release and remains a staple of 1960s rock radio.
The band evolved throughout the late 1960s, eventually operating as Sky Saxon and the Seeds following lineup changes. Though rooted in garage rock rather than electronic music, The Seeds' experimental approach to production and incorporation of keyboard textures influenced the broader psychedelic movement and contributed to the sonic experimentation that would later inform electronic and synth-based music genres.
