Jamaican tenor saxophonist Mike Elliott made notable contributions to 1960s soul and reggae music. Best known for his work with British soul group The Foundations from 1967 to 1968, Elliott played saxophone on their chart hits including “Baby Now That I’ve Found You” and “Back On My Feet Again,” helping define the group’s signature sound during a pivotal period in their career.
Beyond his work with The Foundations, Elliott recorded as a solo artist and explored reggae throughout the early 1970s, releasing the single “Milk & Honey” in 1972. His versatile saxophone playing bridged soul, reggae, and pop styles, earning him appearances on various compilations and television performances that documented the vibrant UK music scene of the late 1960s.
