About

GFVP is a Belgian ensemble project led by violinist and composer Wouter Vandenabeele, blending classical, folk, jazz, and world music influences into a distinctive instrumental sound. Founded in 2012, the group showcases a dynamic interplay between multiple string voices—featuring violinists Lotte Remmen (classical), Naomi Vercauteren (folk-swing), and Anouk Sanczuk (jazz)—layered over Jeroen Knapen's guitar work and complemented by vocalist Hanneke Oosterlijnck's interpretive performances. The ensemble expanded in 2015 with the addition of cellist Jasmijn Lootens and pianist/vocalist Susan Clynes, deepening its harmonic palette.

Vandenabeele's compositional approach unites these diverse musical traditions into cohesive arrangements, creating an accessible yet sophisticated sound that appeals to listeners of contemporary classical and world music. The project stands out for its collaborative energy and skilled musicianship across multiple instrumental disciplines.
