The Midwest Vikings was a mysterious Japanese side-project featuring members of established rock acts performing under aliases. The group brought together Chiba Yusuke (vocals, guitar) and Kazuyuki Kuhara (drums, pianica), both known for their work with The Birthday and TMGE, alongside two unnamed collaborators on guitar and bass.
The project's sole release was a single featuring two original cheering anthems composed for FC Tokyo, alongside an energetic cover of Gerry & The Pacemakers' "You'll Never Walk Alone." Though brief in its existence, The Midwest Vikings showcased the musicians' versatility beyond their primary rock endeavors.
