Martin Degville

Martin Degville is the lead vocalist and creative force behind Sigue Sigue Sputnik, the pioneering British electronic outfit that emerged from the new wave and synth-pop landscape of the 1980s. Formed alongside bassist Tony James (ex-Generation X), the project became synonymous with cutting-edge electronic production and futuristic sonic experimentation, achieving international recognition with the iconic 1986 single “Love Missile F1-11”—a track that remains a staple of electronic music culture and dance floors worldwide.

As co-songwriter and frontman, Degville helped define Sigue Sigue Sputnik’s distinctive sound, blending robotic vocals, industrial textures, and dance-oriented rhythms that influenced generations of electronic and industrial artists.
