About

Los Angeles-based electronic duo Rise emerged from the Pacific Records roster in the mid-1990s, with Andy Smith and Simon Donohue crafting a distinctive sound that helped define the label's forward-thinking approach to dance music. Between 1994 and 1997, the group released seven tracks that showcased their production prowess, earning remixes from respected producers including Stacey Pullen, Claude Young, and Mike Dunn—collaborations that cemented their influence within the underground electronic scene.

Beyond Rise, the duo's creative reach extended across multiple projects and labels. Simon Donohue collaborated with Blame on material for LTJ Bukem's influential Good Looking Records, while also releasing critically acclaimed work under the Native Force moniker on Zozan Records, with tracks subsequently licensed to the respected Compost Records imprint. This prolific output across various aliases demonstrates Rise's integral role in shaping 1990s electronic music production.
