About
Exence is an Italian progressive metal band formed in Florence in 2000 by Federico “Pule” Puleri. The group initially established themselves with the promotional releases “Ferocity” (2001) and “Dynamics” (2004), before delivering their full-length debut “Hystrionic” through Punishment 18 Records in 2009. The album showcased their progressive death metal approach, earning them opening slots for respected acts like Cynic and Darkane.
Following a strategic two-year hiatus, Exence returned with a refined sonic direction and reinvigorated lineup featuring Ritchie Bleed on vocals, Riccardo Tortoli on guitar, Dado Lastrucci on bass, and Francesco “Breeze” Brizzi on drums. The band evolved their sound toward thrash-influenced territory while maintaining progressive elements, recording their comeback album in 2011 at Rome’s 16th Cellar Studios with producer Stefano Morabito. This resurgence marked a renewed commitment to their craft and live presence.
