About

Ralph Peter Steitz was a German guitarist and songwriter who contributed to the Berlin Alternative scene as a key member of Ton Steine Scherben. Recording under the alias R.P.S. Lanrue, he co-wrote much of the band's influential catalog alongside Rio Reiser, helping shape the group's politically-charged sound during their most productive years (1971-1985).

Beyond his work with Ton Steine Scherben, Lanrue remained active in electronic music circles, administering the band's independent label and supporting solo projects within the alternative music community. His contributions to Berlin's underground music infrastructure helped establish important platforms for experimental and avant-garde artists throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
