Ed Logan was a versatile saxophonist whose career spanned multiple decades of American music production. Beginning with the Bill Black Combo, Logan established himself as a session musician and became a key member of the Memphis Horns, contributing his distinctive horn arrangements to countless studio recordings throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

As part of the Memphis Horns, Logan played on numerous Stax Records sessions, lending his saxophone expertise to recordings across soul, R&B, and funk genres. His collaborative work during this era helped define the sonic character of Memphis soul music, contributing to the legacy of one of America’s most influential recording centers.
