About
Dutch producer and DJ from Rotterdam, Git Hyper has built a multifaceted career bridging hip-hop, electronic music, and jazz fusion since the late 1980s. Initially inspired by hip-hop culture, he honed his production skills through collaborations with pioneering Dutch rap acts before establishing himself as a sought-after beat maker and remix producer. His versatility spans from hard-hitting gabber collaborations with Paul Elstak to innovative electronic productions, earning him a National Phonographic Award in 2000 for his contributions to turntablism and production.
Git Hyper’s artistic reach extends across multiple genres and formats. As a founding member of the acclaimed jazz-electronic ensemble S.F.E.Q., he recorded several albums and co-created the “Brasilectro” sound—notably the “Amazonia Mix” of “Brasilectro”—which gained international recognition. His solo work, including the *Zimmerman* series, received critical acclaim throughout the Benelux. Beyond original productions, he has contributed remixes, soundtrack work, and guest appearances with artists spanning New Cool Collective, Sub Sound System, and Dutch hip-hop acts, while also collaborating with orchestral ensembles including the Metropole Orchestra and Residentie Orchestra.
