About
Laura Gilbert is a classically trained flutist based in the United States, known for her work in contemporary chamber music and collaborative projects. As a founding member of Auréole Trio—a distinctive ensemble featuring flute, viola, and harp—Gilbert explores innovative approaches to acoustic composition and performance. Her chamber work spans collaborations with renowned ensembles including the Borromeo and Brentano String Quartets, as well as performances with major orchestras including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and New York Philharmonic.
Beyond her ensemble work, Gilbert co-founded Electric Earth Concerts in 2012, establishing an annual music festival in Peterborough, New Hampshire dedicated to contemporary and classical programming. She frequently performs as a duo with guitarist Antigoni Goni, championing folk-inspired classical music and commissioning new works that blend traditional influences with modern compositional approaches.
