Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh

Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh is an Irish fiddler and vocalist renowned for her mastery of the Donegal fiddle tradition and her commanding presence as a singer in the Irish language. As co-founder and lead voice of the influential folk band Altan since 1987, she has become a defining figure in contemporary Irish traditional music, bringing both technical virtuosity and emotional depth to the genre.

Beyond Altan, Ní Mhaonaigh has pursued a dynamic solo career, releasing her debut album *Imeall* in 2009 and collaborating with various ensembles including the supergroup T with the Maggies.
