J. R. Cobb

J. R. Cobb is an American guitarist and songwriter who made significant contributions to popular music through his work with two influential bands. As a member of the Classics IV, Cobb co-wrote several enduring hits including “Spooky,” “Stormy,” and “Traces,” helping define the group’s sophisticated pop-soul sound. He later joined the Atlanta Rhythm Section, where he continued his songwriting prowess with tracks like “Champagne Jam” and “Do It Or Die,” contributing to the band’s polished blend of rock, soul, and R&B.
