About

# American Music Club

American Music Club is a San Francisco-based indie rock ensemble led by singer-songwriter Mark Eitzel. Formed in 1982, the group built a reputation for emotionally introspective songwriting and atmospheric arrangements that blended indie rock with experimental production techniques. The band released seven studio albums throughout the 1980s and early 1990s before disbanding in 1995, establishing themselves as influential figures in the American indie rock landscape.

The group reunited in 2003 and has continued recording, releasing two additional albums that showcase their evolved sonic palette. While primarily rooted in indie rock rather than electronic dance music, American Music Club's innovative approach to production and arrangement has influenced artists working across alternative and experimental electronic genres.
