Vlastislav Matoušek

Czech multi-instrumentalist and composer Vlastislav Matoušek blends traditional and contemporary sounds through his work with shakuhachi and bass guitar. His experimental approach spans alternative-industrial and acoustic-classical territories, contributing to diverse projects including the alternative-industrial ensemble Yamabushi and the acoustic collective Schola Specialis Familiae.

As a musicologist and educator, Matoušek has shaped the Czech electronic and experimental music landscape through both his performances and teaching work, bringing cross-cultural instrumental perspectives to modern composition and production.
